"I am not now nor have I ever been a music critic or reviewer." With that said, I was invited to hear a local band. So on the evening of the 25th, we headed to Moss Bluff to check them out. They were playing for the United Way's Alternative spring Break at the Volunteer Housing Cener. I think it would also be helpful if I mentioned the band and gave them a little press. It was Twangsters Union. Most of these guys are local Lake Charles musicians. The music started around 8:00, and the people gathered. Line dancing seemed to be the style of choice. The style of the band is country; however, they mixed it up to keep everyone entertained. When I say mix, I mean mix. I had a blast and by the sweat worked up on the dance floor I would say I was not alone. Thanks to all of our Alternative Spring Breakers!
“Twangsters Union formed in 2005 with original members Jeff LeBlanc (lead guitar/vocals) and Joey LeBlanc (drums/vocals), backing several Nashville recording artist along the way and able to stand alone for a very versatile, high energy band. They have many years of musical stage and studio experience. All members have incredible and unique voices with all of them sharing the lead vocals throughout their live shows. Their harmonies are unbelievable and among the best around. They cover Country, Rock, Zydeco, R&B, and other genres of music including some originals written and co-written by members of Twangsters Union. Twangsters Union was voted “Best Band – 2008” in Lagniappe Magazines 2009 Best of Series Publication. In June 2009, Twangsters Union was the Texas Hot Country Magazine & Texas Sounds Entertainment 10 Band Showcase winner in Pasadena, Texas”
