Tony has been an active singer/songwriter in CT for many years as both a solo artist and in various bands, most notably "That 70's Band". He is versatile on both keyboard and guitar, thanks to his formal musical training at the Hartt School of Music and UConn. He enjoys a wide variety of music that is reflected in his original compositions, including rock, jazz and classical influences. Tony's CD, "Eclectic Christmas" reflects that (available through iTunes, Amazon Music, Spotify, Rhapsody, eMusic & Google Play). His instrumental composition "Renegade" was selected for the CT Songwriters Best of 2004 compilation CD as well as the Daddy's Junky Music Best of CT & RI compilation CD. His ballad "The Search" first aired on the CBS soap opera"As The World Turns" in 2002. His pop tune "Listen to Your Heart" received honorable mention in the Music City Song Festival.
In addition to writing Adult Contemporary Pop music, Tony also is a published composer of music for school Bands and Orchestras. Four of his compositions have been featured at the Midwest Band & Orchestra Clinic: "Harvest Fair" and "Home Awaits" for concert band; "A Joyous Sleighride" and "Missing You" for string orchestra. His arrangement of "The Last Rose of Summer" for concert band was selected to the top 100 new Band compositions for 2015 by Band World magazine. His piece "Portrait of a Patriot" was highly recommended by Instrumentalist magazine. "First Responders" for concert band was the runner-up for the 2023 American Prize Composition award. Tony's jazz charts "Raise a Ruckus" (2021), "Coverntry Carol"(2023) and "Go Big or Go Home"(2023) earned Editor's Choice for JW Pepper's jazz library and his "Righteous Refrains"(2023) was a 5 Star Feature on Stanton's Music. His "Last Rose of Summer"(2024), "Carol of the Kings"(2023) and "A Joyous Sleigh Ride"(2022) for string orchestra, and his "The Race"(2023) and "Round & Round"(2023) for concert band also received JW Pepper Editor's Choice distinction.
