Thomas Simon Vortex tours regularly in the USA, South America and Europe, where he collaborates with local session players for his performances.

Simon performs the shows with the musicians in those cities, keeping the jams always different and unpredictable. "It's the ultimate freedom as a producer/musician" says Simon, who creates layers of sounds with his tuned down guitar, while simultaneously playing moog synth bass lines, taking the audience on a sonic odyssey.

At the moment he is focusing on playing in Los Angeles and New York City (where he lives), and in Bucharest, Berlin, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Salvador, circling through those cities where he has built a local following.
With Meirelles, Simon records and performs as "Sonar Atmosfera" - @sonaratmosfera, creating a live improvisational soundtrack, most recently at Associação Cultural Cecília in São Paulo, in 2022.
Their debut album dropped in 2020, just before the pandemic hit and since all travel was then halted, they performed a weekly live session online, playing together apart (NYC - Salvador), streaming on Facebook, Twitch and YouTube. Simon has been commissioned to created music for film (features, shorts & documentaries), tv and theater and works as director of photography, editor, producer and director on narrative films, documentaries, activist & educational programs as well as high profile live events. His soundtrack works showcase his unique ability to connect space with rhythms, creating intense dynamics to tell a story.
Together with his wife, actress/producer/singer-songwriter Jillie Simon, Thomas Simon runs endorphin records in New York City, through which all their musical and film projects get produced. They recorded numerous albums together and toured with the bands Love Alien and Musiciens Sans Frontieres all over the world. The 2021 single "Jillie Simon - Save Our Planet" features Jerry Marotta (Peter Gabriel) on drums (follow the links on endorphinrecords.com). Traveling the film festival circuit extensively for over a decade with various projects, as both a filmmaker and composer, resulted in Simon being approached to help run some of those events.
He was Acting Film Festival Director of the 2021 Other Venice Film Festival and successfully revived the event after the forced pandemic break. The film and music fest was held at the Beyond Baroque Theater in Venice, California.
That got him a job with the 2022 Ethos Film Awards, screening at the Laemmle Monica Film Center in Los Angeles, California, coming in as Director of Programming. Simon also has been on the Selection Committee for the Socially Relevant Film Festival, New York for a number of years, as well as on their Jury in 2022. More to come.
