“Scott Greene “Walks the Line,” not for the State Patrol on the roadside of I-5 by any means. Instead, the type of line I mean to explain is much lighter. In fact, the tracks I intend to review are so NOT one-dimensional–the sound varies so much from song to song, that I’ve created a new musical genre for the industry to chew on: Folkicana/Rock. Better explained, Scott Greene recognizes a diverse group of artists into his music profile–from 90s rockers like Soundgarden, Fishbone, swing kids the Cherry Poppin’ Daddies, and scratchy songster Tom Waits, to name a few. In fact you can almost imagine Greene channeling another one of his influences, Los Lobos, singing from the bottom of a dusty, condemned, South of the border brothel, in the song, “Flesh.” The most unfortunate aspect of this piece however, is that I am only able to review six songs.
