A computer geek by day and a musician, vocalist and songwriter by night, lead singer/ songwriter, Mike Palmer has been able to capture in essence the realities of living “In Christ”
On his first acoustic CD, titled "Thru Your Eyes", Mike and his son Justin joined with friends to begin a musical connection. Later Mike and various supporting musicians joined to gain valuable experience at Club 3 Degrees band tournaments as "The Melodious".
On the later Pop/Rock CD "Rock Me The Way" Mike and band endeavored to develop a unique sound that is a 70's retro with Elton John piano style.
In 2008 the demo CD "My Life" released at annual Solid Rock in the Park event in Pine City, MN. Some additional music style variety was added- a bit of southern rock, jazz and country.
On the latest CD project "I Choose My Destiny" released in 2010, Mike engaged a variety of local musicians (the Vibes) to showcase his variety of style, even including 2 instrumentals.
The focus of "Mike & The Vibes" is, to above all, elevate living a REAL relationship with Jesus.
This journey we walk is blessed when our strength is drawn from the source. Our purpose can only be fulfilled with God's direction. Salvation is a gift that we do not deserve, but we accept because of His great love for us.
Much of the music that Mike writes is inspired by scripture and a relationship that is in development.
“The Melodious” who would choose a name like that? Mike admits that it seems a bit braggy, but noted that it did not cross his mind when he chose that name. Have you ever heard the old hymn “Sweet By and By”…the melodious songs of the blest…? Mike loves the word melodious, "It makes me think of an overload of fruit on a vine."
Can anyone be melodious? We can certainly see that God’s intention for all of us is to fit perfectly into His orchestra.
