Our 1st time at Surf City and we are ready to rock the roof off!!
Review from our last show ~~ The Mayan Factor’s unique ambient rock sound becomes quite captivating as it takes the listener along on a mystical sonic journey. Lyrics that are both meaningful and insightful sung with soul and accompanied by tribal rhythms, pulsating low end, and tasteful guitar tone. They have been a staple of the Baltimore music scene for years and they played an amazing show at The Point in Fells this past Saturday. The Mayan Factor functions as a cohesive unit, equal parts groove and heartfelt expression. Their album 44 has many highlights, one of which is the introspective Hopi Elders, but top to bottom it is an impressive record. Also out on Mothership Records is In Lake’ ch which is another great effort by the band with tracks like the inspirational Warflower, the provocative Nothing Really, or my personal favorite Beauty And The Beast. The latter is truly one of the more beautiful songs I have heard and could easily find its way into modern rock radio's regular programming. Go see The Mayan Factor and witness the “bridging of the abyss of the unreal to the real.”
One word to describe The Mayan Factor is haunting. A listen to any song and you will never forget it. To hear either their melodies or Ray's lyrics is to be renewed. Together they blend into an irresistible force of inspirational creativity. The pendulum swings. There's warmth here. These guys like each other. Magic! melding of personalities, styles and influences. The Mayan Factor has depth. They are sincere. These guys eat music. They preparest a table before you, a bracing musical feast. You'll not sit still. You will undergo a paradigm shift from what music was to what music is becoming. I looked out the window to the corner of Howard Street. I thought it was the music but the clock had ended long ago at 8:27. The Mayan calendar ticks down to 2012. Ten... nine... eight... Hey! these guys are going somewhere. An internal voyage of discovery. The rocket is fueled. The fuse is lit. Reserve your seat now. The Mayan Factor!

“What are people saying about "44" the latest full album from The Mayan Factor - author: Danny This is easily oneof the five best CD's that I have ever heard. The lyrics are very deep and poetic and the music is outstanding. It would take me forever to put into words how good this CD is. Radically different from their first CD, but it's a change for the better. If you like music, then it's pretty much impossible not to like this album. I'd give anything to see them live. 5 stars isn't enough. I don't know how many stars I'd have to give this album to do it justice. One of the best albums that I have ever heard. You will not be disappointed. author: Harold Geick 100 five star reviews couldn't say enough about this CD. If you liked their first album even remotely you will be amazed by this entire CD from sart to finnish. These guys have tapped in to a rare source of power as yet undefined”
