Jim Blair has been writing and performing in the Connecticut music scene with various groups since the early 80's. After the birth of his children, first Allie and then Jimmy, music took a back seat to family. During those years Jim kept writing and occasionally performing. All the while juggling a full time career as a stonemason/landscape contractor with being a dad and husband to his wife Mary, his rock. The songs Jim writes are snapshots of real life and reflect the observations of his world. That world is hard working, blue collar. His songs chronicle the ups, the downs, and everything in between. From the joy of fatherhood(The Circle), coming to grips with addiction(Destiny), to living life to it's fullest(The Sands of Corolla), Jim's songs are born from real life in real time.
In 2010 with Mary's support and insistence, he went into the studio to begin recording his solo material. That journey has culminated thus far with three releases: the five song EP "Exactly Where I'm Supposed To Be" in 2011 and the full CD "Grace" in 2014, and in 2017 "Mystic River". A single from Mystic River, "The Circle", came out initially 2015. That album, along with his other recordings, are available for download on CD Baby, iTunes, Amazon, and Spotify. You can also find him on YouTube, Facebook, soundcloud and of course, Reverb Nation. Jim lives in Columbia, CT with his wife Mary and his daughter, Allie and grandson Carson James.
