Forrest and Doug Hurd were brothers and incredible players, from the small Midwestern town of Harrisburg, Il. They played and recorded during 1970's to the early 2000's. They were well known in the Southern Illinois, Kentucky and Missouri region. Their influences, and their music, were primarily straight blues, blues-rock and jazz: Robin Trower, BB King, Stevie Ray, Clapton, Hendrix, ZZ Top, Joe Pass, Wes Montgomery, Chet Atkins, Beatles, Mick Box, etc... Some of the tunes here are early "basement tape" recordings, some later ones are simple 4-track and others of higher studio quality. In 2001, driving home from a gig, Forrest and Doug were killed on the road by a drunk/high driver less than a mile from their door. Their loss was a senseless tragedy for those of us that loved them as people, and of course for those that loved their music. And the musical world lost two incredible talents. There are many in Southern Illinois who miss them every day and this site is dedicated to their memory and their music. Love you, boys. --Don (Donnie) Scott
