the NOTORIOUS MSG / 357 Lover / The Dirty Shames Saturday, 9/17the NOTORIOUS MSG / 357 Lover / The Dirty ShamesBlasting out of the streets of Chinatown, The Notorious MSG are three renegade restaurant workers on a mission to rip your asses in half with their high-sodium beats. After years of struggling in the kitchens, Hong Kong Fever, Down-Lo Mein and the Hunan Bomb found salvation in music. Hell-bent on revenge, they formed a band and the deep-fried force of nature called The Notorious MSG were born. Together with Billy D. Wang on lead guitar and Noodles on drums, the group’s sound is an rectum-tearing explosion of old school hip-hop and 70’s rock and metal. Their stage show, a whirlwind of sound and fury, has reduced women to tears and made grown men incontinent. The Pan-Asian trio’s rise from the kitchens to the stage has been rapid. Since their debut, they’ve received both national and international press from sources such as The New York Times, Blender, GQ Japan, MTV and MTV Asia, Time Out NY, BBC World Radio, URB and Bust. They’ve been interviewed by Cipha Sounds on Sirius Radio’s Shade45, and were featured in documentaries both on CurrentTV and French television. They’ve carved a path of destruction with their live shows, all across the US at various colleges and notable venues including Bowery Ballroom, The Knitting Factory, CBGB’s, Joe’s Pub, and The Museum of Fine Arts in Houston. The MSG’s assault on your senses doesn’t stop with their music: their YouTube videos have over 100,000 views, not even counting the hundreds of fan generated videos (”Dim Sum Girl” alone has over 100 fan created entries) 18+ w/ ID admission: $10 door time: 8PM / 9PM SHOWBUY TICKETS
