The CooLots is intersectionality personified. Hailing from Washington, D.C. they stand at the zenith of a sound that RAW has described as “A melting pot of different styles and talents…come together to create feelings never experienced before.”
The individual talented entities that comprise this band carry a distinct style and swag of their own, but together they melt into a ragtag eclectic group that will appeal to the eccentric in us all. The CooLots have a sound that moves within and across genres such as rock, alternative, indie, soul, and rhythm and blues, just to name a few. Their unbridled musicality is something akin to the likes of No Doubt, M.I.A., Paramore, Sade, Staind, System of a Down, Jimi Hendrix, and N.E.R.D.
Their head rocking, hip bopping, rhythmic alternative style gave us infectious and cathartic anthems such as Amerikkka, N.U.N, and Doors. In addition to playing at large local venues such as the Howard Theater and Rock and Roll Hotel in D.C., The CooLots brought their sound to the Brooklyn museum, Rhinestone Steele in Pittsburgh, P.A. and various venues in the Northeast; earning them a traveling fanbase. Year after year, The CooLots have made it clear that they can’t be named or claimed for anything else but their eclectic sound and profound energy.
