Dennis Hopper Day will be celebrated on Sunday, May 17, 2015 with events throughout the day at locations from Santa Fe Harley-Davidson to Ranchos de Taos to the Gorge Bridge and the Taos Pueblo, concluding at Old Martina’s Hall. State, Local and Taos Pueblo Dignitaries, actor and artist Dean Stockwell, event producer, Robby Romero and Hopper family members, friends and special guests will be in attendance. May 17, 2015 would have been the award-winning actor, filmmaker, artist’s 79th birthday. The day’s events include the Second Annual Easy Rider Ride beginning at Santa Fe Harley-Davidson with a Rally and BBQ from 11am to 1pm. The Easy Rider Ride will depart from Santa Fe Harley-Davidson at 1pm to Rancho de Taos Plaza concluding at Old Martina’s Hall for a festive, crowd-pleasing gathering. The Dennis Hopper Day Celebration will begin at 7:00 pm at Old Martina’s Hall where special guests will celebrate the memory of this extraordinary artist and to commemorate Mr. Hopper’s many contributions to the State Of New Mexico. The evening will conclude with a motion picture screening of Dennis Hopper’s counter-culture iconic hit “Easy Rider” and a costume contest for the best Easy Rider outfit. All event activities are open to the public.
