About the Artist

Al Sylverfish is the musical alter ego of North Carolina songwriter Alex Blanco, a project where melody, mood, and meaning meet with deliberate restraint. From his home base in Graham, Al shapes songs that prize clarity—clean melodic lines, carefully chosen words, and emotional weight carried not by excess, but by intention. His writing leans on the belief that brevity can be powerful: a few honest phrases can linger longer than a crowded verse. Al’s sound draws from a wide, cross‑cultural palette. You’ll hear the plainspoken storytelling of country ballads, the brooding pulse of indie rock, the rhythmic tension of Latin music, and the atmospheric edges of modern pop. These influences don’t compete—they fuse into a style that feels familiar enough to trust, yet unconventional enough to surprise. With each new release, Al Sylverfish continues to refine a voice that is introspective, melodic, and unmistakably his own. The catalog is growing, the vision is sharpening, and the journey is just beginning.
