pril 2014, a temporary switch with Flint's water source from Lake Huron to the Flint River as a cost-saving measure until a new supply line to Lake Huron was ready. This river has a reputation for being very dirty and unsafe, and after the switch, residents complained their water looked, smelled and tasted funny. Virginia Tech researchers found the water was highly corrosive, and the city switched back to the Lake Huron water supply last October, but didn't mean the water was safe to drink agian. The pipes are tainted and the water is unsafe still. The answer to fix this will be a collaborative effort of science to clean up the water, expensive pipe upgrades to replace the tainted ones, and in-depth investigations to prevent this in the future. Then there's the serious matter of addressing the long-term health implications of exposing thousands of children to dangerously high levels of lead. For what's happened, still going to happen and needs to happen, there is no simple fix. Residents of Indy are banding (no pun) together to offer support and some relief to the city of Flint, MI on February 6th. This will be an event of community and goodwill to get clean water up to Flint, MI to help their community. Join us for an all day event with live music for local bands, broadcast, art, and much more! “[Sugar Moonn Rabbit]... really impressed me back then. Not just with their catchy rock/funk sound, but also with how engaging they were. It’s one thing to be able to play your music, and it’s another to make a connection with the crowd. The latter is something Sugar Moon Rabbit does better than most. Not only do they put on an entertaining show, but they make the audience part of it. Frontman Trevor Potts jumps off stage and sings amongst those who made their way over to this neck of the woods. On top of that, he hands tambourines to a select few and even throws around a few frisbees. It almost feels less like a rock show and more like a big party for those who like music. It doesn’t hurt that they have the musical skills to back it up. You can’t help but dance along,”
