Steve Klenke (BMI) is a trumpet‑wielding, genre‑hopping musical multitool who’s spent his life bouncing between band rooms, recording studios, and—because plot twists are fun—a 21‑year detour through Information Technology. A former Chicago‑area music educator with degrees from Elmhurst University and DeVry (plus Berklee bragging rights).
Steve has racked up over 3,000 gigs and an impressive list of composition credits on Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, A&E, The History Channel, and more, along with placements for Toyota, the American Heart Association, and even tutoring actors on how to pretend they can play trumpet.
His jazz sextet can be heard on just about every streaming platform known to humankind, and he’s performed in nearly every ensemble imaginable—jazz, funk, salsa, orchestral, pit orchestra, church hymns, you name it. Now retired from IT but never from music, Steve continues composing, producing, and proving that trumpet players really can do everything.
