Eddie Ortiz and Son Caribe have performed throughout the islands, as well as Japan, Korea, and the Philippines.
Recognized as one of Hawaii’s Top Live Bands in Honolulu Magazine’s Best Of Honolulu Issue, their original music is charting internationally and receiving airplay on radio stations across the U.S., Latin America, and Asia.
Son Caribe has graced the covers of numerous magazines, including Midweek and Island Weekly. They’ve been featured in television specials, and interviewed for TV, radio, and newspapers around the world worldwide. They’ve even opened for legendary Latin music stars like Tito Puente, Celia Cruz, and Poncho Sanchez.
They’ve also collaborated with salsa legends like Ismael Miranda, Luisito Rosario, Johnny Polanco, Tito Puente, Jr., Chino Espinosa, Herman Olivera, and Frankie Morales.
Son Caribe's Quiet Storm Records CD became a Hawaii #1 Best Seller, and received ©GRAMMY Award consideration for Best Salsa/Merengue Album.
Their latest CD, “Salsa Del Paraíso,” was recently released at a featured Blue Note Hawaii concert.
