Skin Vehicles is the sonic architecture of Northumberland-based multimedia artist, Dex Hannon. An ambitious blend of ultra-progressive electronics, ambient textures, and neo-classical composition, the project treats sound as a physical material—sculpted rather than written.
Originally evolving from Hannon’s work as a visual artist and filmmaker, Skin Vehicles has grown into a distinctive voice in the UK’s underground. The music balances deep electronic atmospheres with the organic weight of piano and strings, exploring the tension between memory and consequence. It is a sound collage where beauty hides in distortion; music designed for late nights and long thoughts.
Hannon is a multidisciplinary force: a visual artist, the author known as Dexuality Valentino, writer of the book, Goodbye Arrmadillo and Other Careless Conversations. His reach extends internationally through collaborations with American artist Eunice Cazarez (as Dvec) and Miami-based AneurGasm (as SkinGasm). His work has been featured on BBC Introducing, BBC Radio 3’s Late Junction, and stations internationally.
