Making Change:
An multi-media evening of international poetry, film and music.

Standing strong for women, the environment and social justice

Join us for a unique benefit evening of film, poetry and music on:
Making Change and Standing Strong for women and the environment.
The evening, coordinated by Gill Hague, poet and activist on violence
against women for 50 years, features:

➢ Short films on the big screen and poems by famed writer, the late
Maya Angelou
➢ Poetry -- women in Uganda, Mexico and Iraqi Kurdistan from Gill

➢ Poetry by video about women in the Middle East and Kurdistan, by world-
renowned Kurdish poet, Nazand Begikhani

➢ Some Classic Women’s Blues by Dave Merrick and Natalie Davis of Small Days
➢ Poetry from acclaimed local writer, Rachel Bentham

➢ Native American Flute and Guitar by Inner Voice, Dave and Clive Mills.

This event is in aid of TreeSisters (re-forestation and women’s project) and
MIfumi (women’s domestic violence project), Uganda
