Following last year’s two day streaming event this year’s Fiesta has overcome numerous pandemic related hurdles and has been synergized into a one-day, largely outdoor event after having been downsized from the original three day multi-venue schedule. Organized by Hickoids and Saustex Records the event has been staged annually at a variety of clubs in Austin without corporate sponsorship or grant money since its inception in 2010. The primary objectives are to showcase the label bands and other like-minded independent acts, to engender a sense of community, and, to poke some fun at the similarly accronymed behemoth festival in a friendly, inclusive and très affordable environment. And with safety being a pretty prime concern during these times we’ve gone to the extra expense to erect a second outdoor stage and are encouraging attendees to wear masks.
The majority of the acts will play on the alternating outdoor stages and then the action will move inside once the city’s sound curfew kicks in at 10:30.
