Brilliant Books is an innovative literacy project in Nottingham's inner city areas. Empleo CIC employ positive role models from all parts of society and cultures and ALL proceeds from this event will go to the purchase of new books for those who would otherwise consider them a luxury item. Three of Nottingham's most literate acts will be performing, New Apostles, The Amber Herd, and Beck Stacey. Plus an array of Nottingham's spoken word artists will be appearing throughout the evening. It's also a chance to talk to the people who run the project and those who have been guest hosts about their experiences since Brilliant Books began in September 2014.
*New Apostles*
After returning from a 17 year hiatus in 2015, New Apostles have gone on to record acclaimed albums West Bank, Apparatchiks,Recurring Dream, and Antiquarian Medical Texts. New album Born Again Free Thinkers was released on 7th September 2018.
