Matthew Sweet has never followed trends, though his landmark 1991 album 'Girlfriend' was responsible for starting one. That gold album features the power pop radio classics “Divine Intervention,” “I’ve Been Waiting,” “Looking at the Sun,” “Winona” and “Evangeline.” He also charted with “The Ugly Truth” and “Sick Of Myself” during a career that stretches back to the mid 1980's.
