The first two Rap For Life benefits have been overwhelming successes, raising money for two very important life or death causes. Organizers Christopher Michael Jensen and Ashley Seeler are happy to announce that Rap For Life 3 will be benefiting domestic abuse awareness, hoping to shed light on this issue that so many people, young and old, are facing today.
Funds raised at the show, as well as online, will benefit the Domestic Abuse Project. This Minneapolis-based organization works to stop domestic violence and abuse, as well as preventing it, by working with women, men, and children. They also work "with community and policy leaders, with higher education, with law enforcement and court systems, and with human service organizations" to help "strengthen the community’s response to domestic violence on a daily basis." 50% of the proceeds will be donated to the organization and aid in furthering that mission.
