BRAZILIAN THRASH METAL FOR EXPORT
Setfire brings to the stages exactly what their name stands for: the powerful and aggressive sound of Thrash and Death Metal, able to inflame the fans with vigorous riffs inspired in the roots of heavy music.
Born six years ago in Maua, a city in state of Sao Paulo, Brazil, the band broke up with the tradition of its region, well known for a big punk rock scene, by keeping alive the legacy of bands like Pantera, Metallica and Slayer and also from Brazilian bands like Sepultura, Krisiun and Korzus.
The quality and originality of their songs gave international recognition to Setfire, in less than a decade of existence. Lyrics against poverty, the evil use of technology and social violence attracted the attention of music critics in Greece, England and United States and that recognition enabled worldwide interviews and made their music available to headbangers all over the world.
Setfire was placed second in the Battle of Unsigned Thrash Bands online contest in 2014, promoted by the website The Metal Den. The website describes the Brazilian thrashers as a band "with enough talent for 10 bands." Still talking about foreign lands, the values represented by the band called the attention of the Californian brand Whole Hearted Clothing, who decided to link their image to the group that exclusively represents the brand in Brazil.
The recognition was no less in their homeland, where Setfire appeared in traditional rock publications as websites Whiplash, Rock Express and Roadie Crew magazine, which defined the technical quality of the singer Artur Morais as "impossible to ignore". The good reputation led to Setfire to share the stage with legendary Brazilian bands like as Garotos Podres and Torture Squad.
Setfire has an independent album released in Brazil, the EP Deserted Land, and a music video for the song “Envy Shit”. This summer, the band plans an US remixed and re-mastered release of Deserted Land in a special cassette tape format and later on digipack by the American Label Hota-rex and they are about to release a music video for the song Revolution of Machines.
