"Street" is the new act persona of Scott Pollack from the band Dr. 8. He's one of the owners of Bittersweet Records Co. in Chicago, IL. - He was responsible for the comeback effort of famed Pop/Soul artist Betty Everett - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Betty_Everett - see Late Career.
His earlier career is distinguished as having the longest standing gig on Rush St. in the heart of Chicago's nightlife district as a solo acoustic guitar performer in the best of the singer/songwriter tradtion. He's known by his peers as one of the strongest tenor's around. He's the former chairman of The Chicago Songwriters Association. He's the lead artist management consultant for Worldwide Talent Management Associates - Worldwide TMA.
The profile here in REVERBNATION has been activated to keep the fire to his feet - we finally got him to get off his bumb and get back to performing again! He's always been helping everyone else. We're kinda anticipating to see what he does this time around.
Two solo acoustic albums are planned. Being produced concurrently they are "Pop Excerpts," a free compilation of solo acoustic favorites, though we're still trying to figure out which artists he's going to cover. Paul Simon's Still Crazy is the first of those recordings. This will be free to the public, if you can find where we've left the promotional copies once it's been completed and released. We'll let everyone know where the locations are.
The second allbum is called "Songs from Rogers Park," This is an original compilation of tunes written by underground hero's like the late great Howard Berkman from The Knaves...other tunes from artists such as Brian Gill, plus more, and Pollack's originals.
This is the tune and production blog we've chosen for the samplings. The long awaited full band album from Dr. 8 titled "Sorry We're Late For The Party...we got here as fast as we could" is also awaiting completion, and Street has commented that as soon as the vintage sequencing/synthesizer station has been cleaned up he's going to crank that one out as well. It was quite a blow to the unit to lose their lead guitarist Justin Garriot after he joined the greatest band in heaven, due to a work transfer arranged by liver failure.
