Sounds Like: Darrell Scott, Ray Lamontagne, Otis Redding, Van Morrison (Official), Tom Waits
Bio: Scott McMahan blurs the lines between Soul & Folk, Country & Rock. Honest and direct - he sings of longing, loss, and the hope of redemption. His warm, gritty baritone is at times weary and emotion-laced, bringing to mind artists like Otis Redding and Van Morrison.

“Scott McMahan has one of those voices that go with his songs. I'll give you a listen here in a minute. We met Scott at Hippie Jack's festival when he filled in for a musician who had to cancel because his father got very sick. Jay Clark told Scott, who was there as a volunteer, to get up there and do something and that's exactly what he did. Tore the place up and got a standing O. Then Hippie tore off his volunteer bracelet and gave him a musician's pass to the beer tent, which is an extremely high honor at Hippie's place. Scott has opened for Delbert McClinton at the Bijou and is opening for Randall Bramblett's CD release show in Asheville this weekend. We get him Friday June 14 at the room next door to the Market Street Bistro, which we highly recommend for supper. Go here and listen to some Scott McMahan music.”
