Join the celebration, feel the spirit, embrace the joy! Special performances by award-winning poet, Sarah Ashley, and the dynamic, Prism of Praise Community Gospel Choir. Free and open to the public. Prism of Praise Prism of Praise Community Gospel Choir is a multiracial, ethnically diverse Christian choir. For over 20 years, Prism has dynamically performed in prisons, churches, and college campuses throughout RI. The choir is highly sought for the its repertoire, which ranges from spirituals and freedom songs to traditional and contemporary gospel music. The group’s members range in age from 20’s to 70+. Committed to community service, Prism of Praise’s goal is to spread God’s love, peace, and hope through music. Sarah Ashley Sarah Ashley is a sensational poet, extremist and keynote, who has obtained high honors for her work. She contends to bring a message of empowerment, encouragement, love and healing to her listeners. Her words are meant for anyone with a curious and inquiring mind. Sarah Ashley’s audience can be found in diverse, local settings from bars and nightclubs to churches, seminars, conventions and retreats. Having authored series of poems and essays entitled Gospel Gumdrops, she is currently the Poet Laureate of the Cathedral of Life Christian Assembly in Providence, RI.
