Sandy and I will be playing Bites Off Broadway. Come and enjoy the food trucks, sprawling lawns and Sandy's wonderful songs! Despite much handwringing on the part of brick-and-mortar restaurant owners, it appears that the food truck revolution is here to stay - and with it, the notion that wherever at least two or three gourmet food trucks are gathered is a pretty good place to have a party. In Oakland, there are bigger food truck gatherings and ones that are more popular. But for the past three years, Bites Off Broadway has been in a class of its own in terms of providing a low-key, community-minded experience. The lines for the six of so trucks that gather in front of the Studio One Art Center each Friday are rarely more than a few customers deep, and there's a big stretch of lawn where families and friends can sprawl out on a picnic blanket and enjoy the late afternoon sunshine. There's room for the kids to run around and, often, lawn games and live music. What's not to like?

Sandy and I will be playing the Marsh (2120 Allston at Shattuck in Berkeley). Doors and bar open at 6. There will be a show by my friends Wayne and Randy from 7 to 9 that I'm very excited to see, then we'll play from 9 to 10 or later if people would like. It's a great spot to hang out in beforehand, there are loads of places to eat in downtown Berkeley nearby and you can bring in food. Ginger does a wonderful job of running the show and the bar. Every song will be an amazing Sandy original. We'd love to see you. No cover this time! Here's some info about Wayne and Randy's show: ...a preview of a new show by Wayne Harris and Randy Craig & MacGregor & Friends. "Mother's Milk". Afterward we will be having the amazing sounds of Sandy Wieder and Richard Owen Amazing soul singing, guitar twanging and harmonica trilling. http://www.reverbnation.com/sandrawieder Mother's Milk: For some time now storyteller/playwright, Wayne Harris and pianist/composer, Randy Craig have been collaborating with celebrated director, David Ford on a brand new work called, “Mother’s Milk.” This evening of soulful stories set on a pallet of blues and gospel music is destined for performance at this years’ 2015 San Francisco International Film Festival. Join director David Ford and bassist John McArdle this Thursday, June 4th at 7 pm at the Marsh Cabaret Bar in downtown Berkeley, for an intimate preview of this exciting new work. Following the reading you will be encouraged to give feedback and talk about the process. Enjoy this rare opportunity to help shape a moving and compelling piece of new theater and music in the East Bay’s best kept secret. The Marsh Cabaret Bar, 2120 Allston Way, Berkeley, CA Parking: Oxford Garage on Kittredge •$4 after 5PM Display Artwork ~ Suzanne Forrester Art & Installation "For years, every time I go to a friend’s house, I find one of Suzanne Forrester’s haunting paintings hanging — a woman holding a fish on a hook, her eyes beseeching, hangs over a desk in a therapist’s office. Another lass cradles a bird, sewn on with thread but still looking like it might fly off the canvas, and hangs over a baby’s changing table. Mission-dwelling curators of art have been quietly snatching up Forrester’s work from her shows in cafes and stores to add color and emotion to the walls of their homes, offices, and studios."

About

Bio: Sandra Wieder’s songs are a mystery unfolding. When writing about matters of the heart, her lovers find their way on the road to nowhere, they wake up in foreign dreams or sit around beachfront firesides. Sometimes storms are brewing and rain is coming down. Her songs are colored by the whiteness...See Full Bio
