Vancouver, BC’s SAINTS of DEATH are a four piece that has taken the reins to write original material with a double bassist attack and set themselves apart from the pack with their heavy sound of thrash, doom and hardcore metal.
Inspired by the Mexican folklore of Santa Muerte (Spanish for Holy Death), SAINTS of DEATH is fronted by vocalist and eight string bassist Twan Holliday, a giant standing nearly 7’ foot tall who can also be recognized for his acting credits in some well-known Hollywood movies and pro wrestling (credits below). Holliday is joined by five string bassist Juan Hellava , guitarist Ashley Blue and Christopher James on drums to complete this ferocious line up.
TWAN HOLLIDAY ON 8 STRING BASS & LEAD VOCALS: With his ten miles of gravel road for vocals Twan is no stranger to the stage or Big screen. He has played bass and sang in Metal bands and worked with big name stars on TV & Movies. At nearly 7' tall he was a menacing Hard-Core Pro Wrestler for ten years.
ASHLEY BLUE : The man, the myth, the Legend. Has been in the Vancouver music scene since the late 80’s. Started out playing skaterock/crossover/thrash, Ashley has played in such noteworthy bands as STRAPPING YOUNG LAD, MINORITY, UNIT:187, FUEL INJECTED .45, who are signed to Alternative Tentacles & have toured & performed w Jello Biafra. CHRIST AIR is Smashley’s crossover band, when not melting faces w SAINTS OF DEATH.
Ashley plays ESP/LTD Guitars & EMG pickups, Ernie Ball Strings, Independent Trucks & Vans Shoes, exclusively.
In his spare time he practices satanic witchcraft with his kids, enjoys cunning linguistics, riding skateboards, long walks off short piers. Composes soundtracks & electronic music. Ashley is a vegetarian/Vegan, which according to the band makes his ass a biotech weapon......
JUAN HELLAVA: Jan plays 5 string bass and has played bass in Metal, Jazz, blues & Rock bands over the years. . With his high energy playing style on stage, He sets a very heavy tone at Saints of Death Shows.
CHRISTOPHER JAMES ON DRUMS: His hard hitting style that was perfected in Hard Rock and Metal bands over the years keeps the time with a pounding rhythmic drum beats with fills that will arouse your primitive lust for Metal.
