Born and raised on Long Island, N.Y., songwriter Ryan Martinez graduated from UCLA with a B.A. in History and an unofficial minor in music business studies through UCLA's famed extension school. He writes in a wide range of styles from AAA, A/C, pop, and Americana to Indie pop and Max Martin inspired pure pop.
His official songwriting career began in earnest in 2007 when his song "Waking in a Dream" was chosen by 19 Entertainment from over 30,000 entries as a finalist song in the American Idol Songwriting contest.
He later worked with European producers and has had cuts on Warner Brothers and Universal. Two of his songs were produced by the late Il Divo singer Carlos Marin. Later work includes "11" released on Universal imprint "Ingrooves."
His music has been featured prominently in numerous television shows over the years and his song "Fearless is Beautiful" was chosen as a winner in the Avon Voices songwriting contest, judged by Diane Warren and Fergie among other notable music figures.
As of March 2026, he has a total of three songs in the U.K. Songwriting contest finals.
