Ryan Hanlin is a seasoned country/Americana artist, rhythm guitarist, and published songwriter with over 25 years of touring and studio experience. Known for his gritty vocals, sharp timing, and dry-humored storytelling, Ryan blends Nashville polish with Midwest heart. He’s backed artists across the country, cut tracks in top studios, and brings a reliable, road-tested presence to every stage. Whether co-writing, filling in on guitar, or leading a trio, Ryan delivers honest music with edge and soul.
“Country music is the people's music. It just speaks about real life, and about truth, and it tells things as they really are. Our goal is to draw the audience in, and make them feel a part of the show. If we can take them away from the daily grind, and help them forget their troubles, even if only for a little while, then we have done our job-making great music and hopefully great friends along with it!”
Traditional. Rockabilly, 90s Country.
Ryan Hanlin grew up the youngest of two children in Blue Springs, Missouri. The son of a veteran high school basketball coach and a homemaker. When not hanging out with his dad in the gym, Ryan spent a lot of time with his grandfather. Some of his fondest memories are listening to the likes of George Jones, Buck Owens, and Keith Whitley in Grandpa's wood shop. Ryan's interest in music blossomed after high school. He would find himself thinking about music and writing songs when trying to study for college classes. By the Mid 90's he had formed his band, Ryan Hanlin & Higher Ground, and had developed a following while touring the Midwest. His association with Kansas City country radio station Q104 enabled him to open for many established country artists. It is quite obvious that on stage sharing his music is where he belongs. Ryan moved to Nashville in 2004 and soon landed a publishing deal. Ryan shares many co-writes with some of Nashville premier songwriters, such as: Shawn Camp who has written "Would You Go With Me" & "Fire Cracker" by Josh Turner; Phillip White who has written "I'm A Survivor" by Reba McEntire & "I'm Movin On" by Rascal Flatts; Marty Dodson who has written "Everybody Wants To Go To Heaven by Kenny Chesney & "Must Be Doin Something Right" by Billy Currington; and Mark Nesler who has written "Livin And Livin Well" by George Strait & "You Look Good In My Shirt" by Keith Urban. Ryan's recent recordings were produced by Mark Miller of Sawyer Brown. Ryan currently resides in Blue Springs, Missouri with his wife Shannon and 3 Boys.
