“Sanford based band Rusthoney put on a performance that lived up to expectations. Their sound is intense, yet very melodic. These guys know how to play their instruments, and how to get the exact sound they are looking for. Rusthoney has played many shows outside the Sanford city limits and you can hear it in their music. They consistently play in Raleigh venues like Deep South and Ruckus, including some NC Local Music shows. It’s always a surprise to me to hear Travis Guilliams on vocals. I’ve known Travis for several years, and prior to seeing them play, never imagined him fronting a band. Travis is, however, a front man. His vocals are clean and on point, and every other piece of the band does nothing but strengthen this performance. Chris and Phil Johnson are solid on the guitar and drums, respectively, as is Justin Kelly on guitar, but it is Travis and Brad Terry on bass that seem to almost jump off the stage with intensity.”
