Red Meat has been around for 20 years, having started in San Francisco's Mission District in 1993. But the band members are all Midwesterners - three from Southeast Iowa, one from Cleveland, and one from Tulsa. We're probably the best known and most accomplished honky tonk club band in California. We have 5 albums out, three of which were produced by Dave Alvin. The music is a hard honky tonk vibe in a Bakersfield barroom style. Additionally, Red Meat has headlined hundreds of our own shows nationally and in Europe, and have been lucky enough to share the stage with our idol Buck Owens, Loretta Lynn, Alabama, Jerry Jeff Walker, Ralph Stanley, Del McCoury, the Derailers, Big Sandy, Deke Dickerson, the Hacienda Brothers, the Blasters, Dave Alvin, Joe Strummer, the Knitters...you get the picture, I think!
