Singer Songwriter Ronney Abramson was born in Paris, France and grew up in Montreal. She began playing guitar and writing songs at an early age, influenced by a diversity of genres of music. Her formal studies in classical guitar added an extra layer of inspiration to her songwriting. As a result, her songs and smooth guitar style form a warm blend of folk, pop and jazzy soul.
Ronney recorded three albums, RONNEY ABRAMSON (Capitol Records) and after her move to Toronto, STOWAWAY and JUKEBOX OF PARIS (True North Records) and an EP (Duke Street Records). As co-creator, producer, writer, arranger and performer, she recorded two critically acclaimed children’s albums for A&M Records, the winner of the Juno Award for Best Children's Album, RUGRAT ROCK (1983) and THE RUGRATS ROCK ON (1985).
Ronney's EP, A RE-MASTERED COLLECTION is available on iTunes and features four digitally re-mastered tracks from her True North albums including her charted singles, “Your Love Gets Me Around” and “Light Up Your Love”.
