British born Greek Cypriot vocalist, specialising in classic songs from yesteryear.
My inspiration for singing goes back a very long way as I remember my neighbours playing music constantly all day. I would here music by Elvis Presley, The Beatles , Cilla Black , Cliff Richard, Englebert Humperdink and Tom Jones to name but a few. Such fond memories are with me still today and my singing passion began there and then.
My first ever exposure to singing live to an audience was at my friends Greek wedding I must have been 19 or 20 years old at the time and from that moment on I knew that I had a reasonably good voice as people would come up to me after my performance and give compliments.
My singing then took me to performing at Greek Clubs and even a few pubs.
I was supported and performed alongside a dear friend of mine and Britains number 1 bouzouki player Lenios Demetriou, and his band Omega.
Back in 2010 I replied to a local advert in the newspaper where they were scouting for people with raw talent and who could sing .
Having auditioned for this role, I was introduced to Joshua Alamu a renowned vocal coach who has worked with various music artists from the likes of The Band With No Name, Westlife, Beverly Knight,Daniel Bedingfield, All Saints and Joss Stone just to name a few, and is now among the coaching staff of BBC’S show The Voice . With Joshua’s guidance I took part in a few live showcases which were organised by Joshua and I got very good positive feedback regarding my voice from members of the music industry.
In January 2012 I read an article in the local Greek newspaper about a talent show called The LGR All Star Music Awards where people could apply for taking part in the show by sending demo CDs to the local radio station LGR 103.3FM.
I sent them a copy of my CD “Sealed With A kiss” and was notified after a couple of months that I was chosen to be amongst one of 12 Finalists competing in the show.
The special guest who flew over from Greece especially to perform for us that night was the one and only Greek International Singer Christos Menidiatis.
Having competed in the show one of the judges Mike Bennett a top record producer mentioned how he wanted to do some recordings with him since he believed I had potential in releasing classic old songs.
Since the show and with the help of Mike Bennett I have been priveledged to perform at a number of open mic events where I have supported legendary music artists such as Anita Harris, Angie Brown and Dr And The Medics.
In February 2013 Mike Bennett helped me in releasing my first 5 track EP album entitled
Without Mike Bennetts involvement in this project this album would not have been released. This album has been distributed on digital stores such as I Tunes, Amazon, E Music and Spotify.
Here’s hoping that this is the beginning of something new and exciting.
