2022 Capitol Area B;ues Finalist, Robin O'Herin is a touring blues and gospel musician, specializing in historically rich, often interactive concerts that include original and traditional American music. She plays festivals, coffeehouses, house concerts and live internet shows. Her concerts are warm, affirming experiences she shares with the audience. Let her take you on a journey of musical exploration through the Delta and Piedmont regions of the South. Song selections may include Robert Johnson, Blind Willie Johnson and Robin's own original blues and fingerstyle ballads.
A natural teacher, she teaches in many different settings: both privately, in schools and also in music camps. Subjects taught include fingerstyle and bottleneck blues guitar, ukulele, voice and songwriting, She has had her original music licensed to PBS.
She is available for booking concerts, private parties, festivals, coffeehouses and farmer's markets, alone, in a duo with Rhythm tap artist, Stefanie Weber.

Robin was a finalist in the 2013 Memphis Blues Challenge. She played in the Tropea Blues Festival in Trope Italy in September '06. She was the headlining act in the Resophonic Blues Festival in Pilzen, CZ. in '05. She opened for the Doobie Brothers in Pittsfield, MA. and for Vance Gilbert and Michael Powers in Sept 04. Her arrangement of "Old Country Rock" and her original "Everhopeful" were used in the soundtrack for the PBS "2005 Roadtrip Nations" Series (episode 4). She was a Telluride Blues Finalist in 2009.

PROGRAMS
My field of study has enabled me to create a variety of Blues In The Schools Programs, as well as after-school programs and programs for people with special needs.
Some of the programs I have written and performed in schools, libraries and community centers include: Rhythm & Roots (a program for young children exploring the roots of African rhythms); Blues and the poetry of the Harlem Renaissance ; Blues, Songwriting & Poetry; and Tap & Blues (w/Rhythm Tap Artist Stefanie Weber).
2010 I partnered with Raising The Blues and became their Western MA Director. The Mission of Raising the Blues is to bring music, instruments and instrument training to children who are sick, disabled and have special needs, in hospitals and schools. I have done hospital concerts, private lessons, and summer instrument building programs and music with the BRSD Special Needs Summer Program.
2011 Partnered with Guitars In The Classroom. Their mission is to help teachers integrate music into curriculum through donating guitars and ukuleles, instrument training, and training in learning how to use songs to teach math, science, English and History, as well as classroom management.
2014 I have partnered with The Pittsfield Music School’s outreach program, bringing concerts, one-on-one singing with a variety of instruments, and instrument building to the BcArc program in Berkshire County.
2015 I have partnered with CATA teaching ukulele to adults with various disabilities
