Robert Caruso is an Italian-born Rock singer-songwriter-guitarist from London, UK. His albums are The Best-Kept Secret In Rock'n'Roll (2012) Love And Death (2014) Three Minutes To Midnight (2016) the acoustic, Blues-influenced album When My Train Comes (2020) Flange (2022) and solo and acoustic album Downhome (2025) available on all platforms. Robert started as a teenager as Rob Leer (& The Electric Kids), one of the first Italian Punk Rock/New Wave bands, according to the Italian book Lo Stivale E' Marcio (i.e.:"The Boot Is Rotten", Claudio Pescetelli, 2003). He moved to London age 20, became friends with Johnny Thunders and Stiv Bators, among others, and had a romantic affair with Nico from The Velvet Underground. His music is rooted in the Blues, 1950s' Rock'n'Roll, Garage Rock, so-called Proto Punk (The Velvet Underground, The Stooges, New York Dolls, etc..), Punk Rock and traces of Funk, but with an updated, contemporary sound of his own, and characterized by songs with a realist, urban setting which are self-contained stories. Over the years he opened for Blues and Rock artists such as Ray Charles, John Lee Hooker, Pops Staples, Steve Marriott, Nico, Johnny Thunders and many others, including singing briefly with The Yardbirds and Elvis Presley's original band. Songs released so far only as singles are Paris (04/23), Down The Line (09/24) Dark Side Of The Street (09/25) and You're Driving Me Insane (06/26). Robert Caruso's albums are mostly recorded by Robert playing everything by himself; except for acoustic double album When My Train Comes, recorded live in the studio with an acoustic band (Robert Caruso: vocals, Dobro slide guitar, harmonica plus piano, double bass, drums and percussion), and Downhome is a solo and acoustic album with some songs being live concert recordings. His albums are available in "video format" (every song has its own video and albums can be watched as films on sites like YouTube) which no recording artist has ever done before. New single Evangeline is scheduled for release in November 2026, and a new album in early 2027.
[N.B.: In early March 2020, before the pandemic was even declared in the UK, Robert Caruso posted a spoken video on Facebook and YouTube to warn fans that gigs would be cancelled as lockdowns would be imposed in Britain, that a fake vaccine (as ihe knew that a vaccine for any coronavirus is an impossibility) would be imposed as the only cure for C19, and predicted the Ukraine and Iran wars too. His video "Covid 19: What's Going On?" was censored (it's still on Rumble, on Robert Caruso's own site - and on Facebook, although obscured). Later, in February 2024 TuneCore censored all of Robert Caruso's albums. Songs like Rebel, You're Doing Nothing Now, Red Pills and Interference had 100s of 1000s of streams on Spotify, but, as they go against the "Great Reset" narrative of governments and media, they were taken down from every platform. They have been re-released via distributor CD Baby.
