S. songwriter, activist, recording artist, and performer of DiY/acoustic, indie rock, and political folk music, performing since the late 1980’s, based in Urbana, Illinois. He is also the founder of DiY/folk & acoustic recording company, the hand-made record label. Crooked Mouth A band for the times, both good and bad. Purveyors of original music with roots in vaudeville, The Crooked Mouth gives songwriters their due, pretends to the folksy but leans on the Brechtsy, and harmonizes on themes of loss and forbearance. Long ago, there was Maestro Subgum and The Whole, a band of epic proportions, from which grew the Curious Theatre Branch, from which grew, later, The Crooked Mouth: two mamas, a grandpa, the world's oldest teenager, and Troy. Ross Berman IV Ross W Berman IV is a Chicago-based, Syracuse-born folksinger and songwriter. Drawing influences from Charley Patton to David Chase and any-and-everywhere in between, his songs are loquacious and rowdy. He’s a funk-ified, country-fried punk poet and a pretty decent hand at Tetris. He’s top class Illuminati and all up in those Aliens. His debut studio effort, The Folk City Hustle is available at rossberman.bandcamp.com

“As a lifelong fan of True Deep American Strangeness...the Truest, Deepest American Strangeness is to be found in the Heartland, the Great Midwest. As a perfect example, take a song--any song--of Rich Krueger, and you will see exactly what I mean. Rich is an American Stranger, if I ever did see one”
