From bass player in a local rock band to song leader in a Baptist Church…this 47+ year journey has been incredible! "Do You Really Believe?" was born, in part, out of my experience with prostate cancer found in May of 2022. Gleason score of 9 and PSA 6+ prompted my doctors to recommend radical prostatecomy surgery asap in order to "cure" the disease since it was fully contained within the prostate gland. Having been anointed with oil by our elders in July, I asked God for complete healing believing Jesus' promise. From August 2022 to January 2023, 5 surgeries were scheduled then cancelled for reasons unknown to me until December 2022. I had low hemoglobin! Many tests followed resulting in an infusion of iron. The fifth surgery was then scheduled for January 2023 as my PSA had risen to 13.3. One week before that surgery, pain developed in my pelvis area prompting another bone scan with those results showing metastasis into the pelvis bone. No surgery needed now as it was too late to help. I was still trusting God for healing but there was doubt I had to ignore, (Proverbs 3:5-6). Castration sensitive medication was prescribed immediately. After one dose of medication on the first day of treatment, my urination changed so drastically and felt so normal compared to the several months of restricted flow and struggles. The pain was gone as well. I knew God had touched me. My PSA dropped to 0.28 by the second week of February 2023 and to 0.04 in May of 2023. In August of 2023, a nuclear PET scan was done from head to mid-thighs which found no cancer anywhere. PRAISE the GOD of HEAVEN! "Do You Really Believe" was written during this trial to build my faith and challenge or encourage all that will hear its message. To God be all the Glory!
