About the Artist

Richard is one of youngest inductees into the Maryland Entertainment / Music Hall Of Fame, who works 150+ dates per year. He is also an award-winning singer/songwriter/producer/entertainer who has released 15 CD's of original music to date. In 2024, Richard released his solo "Love Drop" CD. His brand new 2023 CD releases are with: 1. Three’s A Crowd (w/ singer Vicki Kieffer) “Wheelhouse” and 2. Richard Walton Group (w/ Michael Bronson, Barry Caudill, Mike Gottleib, Dave Krug, David Meer, Matt Perich, Mitch Shaivitz, Eric Robertson) 5 By Seven”. His 2019 solo vinyl LP "Twelve" is practically sold-out. He is best known for the Richard Walton Group; formed in 1990 in support of the release of his 2nd CD "Out Of Bounds" (partially produced by founding Crack The Sky guitarist Rick Witkowski). In 2015, Richard Walton Group (a WAMMIE & Maryland Music Award nominated group) released an anticipated new studio CD, "Under The Current". The group, one of the first in the Mid-Atlantic area in the genre of multi genre (latin, fusion, jazz, rock) original instrumental music; currently has released 6 CD's and gained national digital & Pandora radio airplay. Along with his wife Tecla (violin), Drew Davidsen (guitar) and Kevin Doxzen (percussion), they formed the contemporary Christian trio Straight On Red, who released it's debut CD in 2008. Over the past 20 years, Richard also has been part of many worship teams in Howard County. He also works as a solo artist, as well as in different musical situations over the years with Three's A Crowd, Legal Tender, Rich & Famous, Straight On Red, FOG, Eyelevel, ....and you've seen him subbing with bands: Midnight Cargo, Chalk Dust, Rearview Mirror, Extra Innings, Release, etc... Early 2017 proved to be an exciting year with a signed major publishing deal with a CA based company (snagging a bunch of placements in TV shows), a CD remastered re-release of his 'sold-out' solo vocal 2006 CD "Vessel" and much much more!!
