Presented By Metropolis Touring & Tombowler “This was a rock concert as it was supposed to be - no flashy pyrotechnics, no flying pigs, just hard and heavy rock for the faithful.” - Mark Robertson - BBC Music Review During the late 60s and early 70s four bands from the UK redefined rock music, pioneering a style that would go onto inspire the biggest heavy metal bands of all time. They were Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin and Uriah Heep. Uriah Heep’s unique, progressive, hard sound has made them a mainstay of the rock circuit for four decades. Famed for their accomplished musical talents, diverse song writing and powerful live performances, the band has released some of the most popular and defining music of their genre. With a catalogue of 23 studio albums that includes ‘Demons and Wizards’ (1972), ‘Abominog’ (1982), and their most recent release, 2011’s ‘Into The Wild’ (their highest charting album since the ‘70’s) it’s no surprise that the band has sold over 40 million records worldwide. Original member and lead guitarist Mick Box still helms this incredible outfit along with keyboardist Phil Lanzon, vocalist Bernie Shaw, drummer Russell Gilbrook and bassist Davey Rimmer who replaces the late Trevor Boulder who sadly passed away from pancreatic cancer in 2011. They remain one of the hardest working bands on the circuit with over 150 shows under their belt in the past year and promise a set-list of some of the highlight picks from their 40 year plus career.
