Raven Black / Press

"I had never seen and barely listened to the headliners Raven Black before catching this show, but I was completely blown away on all fronts by this group … they are INCREDIBLE. With Raven Black on vocals, The Doctor on guitar, Stitches on bass, and Muppet on drums, their names, image, and music is all predicated on insanity. Musically, they have found a way to combine elements of nu-metal with the reckless attitude and style of punk. It’s a sound that rings with familiarity but entrenched in their own translation that there isn’t another band out there that you can point to in reference. Sounds of weird background effects coated in the laughter of children working perfectly with the slightly overdriven ominous guitar tones started the opener, “Still Healing,” before blowing the roof off with their brand of metal when the song eventually kicked in. From there, they ripped through a set which included such standouts as “Twinkle Twinkle Little Scars,” “Damaged,” ...READ

“RAVEN BLACK : A Dark Metal Carnival Los Angeles based Raven Black have released the video "Seven Sins" from their yet to be released album tentatively named "13". Formed in 2012 but with an ever changing line up they continue to push forward with the release of "Seven Sins" they are just teasing at what they will be introducing you to, a dark metal carnival. With such a theatric look and sound they are one of the best sounding and artistic bands to break the mold of a true total stage show. “DROWNING POOL, Murder FM, at Los Globos, February 23, 2016 Raven Black-A little later on, locals Raven Black took to the stage, and proceeded to enrapture the Drowning Pool throngs with an imaginative set of theatrical rock and roll. Imagine Nina Hagen or Lene Lovich conspiring to take over the world with Angela Gossow or Alissa White-Gluz of the almighty Arch Enemy, and you are only just beginning to conceive of the intriguing darkness Raven Black has in store for you! Opening with the diabolical duo of songs Still Healing and Twinkle Little Scars, Raven Black instantly captivated the audience who quickly crowded all around the stage to witness the stunning presentation. Front woman Raven Cox is a massive talent, singing and screaming the fiery lyrics with a staggering sense of passion, Ms. Cox would not be confined to the stage, and took the time to venture out into the crowd, singing ominously into the faces of the both the hypnotized and the unconverted.”

“The Black Raven Project, a rock band with a sexy edge, opened the night. The band members include: Raven Black (Lead Vocals), Ryan "Muppet" Cox (Drums), JD (Guitar), and the bassist for the night was a fill in while the band looks for a permanent player. Lead vocalist Raven Black has a Janice Joplin meets Hard Rock/Metal voice. This 5 foot'ish gothic barbie explodes on stage and performs much larger than her physical stature. This was the second time I have seen this band (but the first time with great lighting and sound that The Whisky provides) and I confess I am a fan and recommend them to everyone.”
