Fueled out of the depths of Chichester, NH, Purging Sin unleashes a furry of metal that is reminiscent of the good ol' days where technique was appreciated and lyrics meant something. Founding member, Anthony Nicastro (guitar / vocals), joined forces with Matthew Harris in 2015 (RIP 2020) to blend metal, both old school and new.
Bassist, Brian Barksdale, joined in 2018, brings the thumping with a background in Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, and Primus to complement the thrash roots. *Hint* He also plays bass solos.
Taking over as second guitarist, Sean Schaefer joined in 2023 and brings a jazz infusion sound to complement the aggressive style of riffs.
Ed Battles on drums, joined in 2024 and brings a metal mixed with tribal sound to the mix.
Distorted guitars and guitar solos lace and piece the ears until they bleed. Purging Sin has recently come off a series of shows, playing the opening stages for acts such as Vixen and Godsmack.
In tandem, Purging Sin has been in and out of the studio for the past year recording their third full length album.
One promo single, ‘Reasons’, was released in March 2025.
