“On the bluegrass barometer, Possum Livin is more Split Lip Rayfield than Del McCoury Band. In other words, the Boise group has more to do with DIY ethos than Appalachian spirit. Possum Livin certainly isn't a thrash-grass band, but there's obviously a passion for punk here; But most often, Possum Livin plays it relatively straight - with pleasant enough results. Americana influences are fused cleanly on mid-paced string-band originals such as "Game Over" and the lively, coffee-and-weed-fueled shoulder shrugger "One of Those Days" (which does have a little McCoury Band in its vocal harmonies.) The album's unexpected standout is the inspiring, traditional-feeling "How Long Will It Be." Yearning yet somehow foreboding, it sounds like it might have been sung by off-duty monks in a crowded Irish pub. Name another band that's done that for your imagination lately.”
