"Plástico Pesado" is a Guatemalan rock band band formed back in the 70's and broke up in the end of 1975. They were one of the first Guatemalan bands that wrote original rock music in English/Spanish. They attracted many followers and signed record contracts with Dicesa (Picaro Records) of San Salvador and Fonica of Guatemala City, all with original material. They achieved a wide success in the central american area.
Now regrouped by Manú Ramírez, drummer and founding member who lived and played music 24 years in Europe/USA and is recognized for his Salsa/Latin Jazz band "Manú & his Latino House". Manú produces Plástico Pesado and plays different instruments, vocals and is the main author of the new original material. Francisco Lam (founder lead guitarrist) is in charge of the lead guitar.
El Plástico Pesado, banda de rock guatemalteca fué formada a principios del año 1972 y se desintegró a a finales de 1975. Fué una de las primeras bandas guatemaltecas con material original en inglés y español. Obtuvo contratos de grabación con Dicesa (Pícaro) de el Salvador y con Fonica de Guatemala, grabando solo material original y tuvieron mucho éxito en Centroamérica.
Ahora resurgida por baterista/miembro fundador Manú Ramírez quien vivió y tocó música 24 años en Europa/USA y es reconocido por su banda de Salsa-Latin jazz "Manú & His Latino House". Manú produce al Plástico Pesado y ejecuta varios instrumentos, voces y es el principal autor del material original. Francisco Lam (integrante original) encargado de la primera guitarra.
