Phil Biggs is an Americana singer-songwriter who has written and recorded nearly 50 songs during his music career. In 2024 Phil released his third and latest full-length album, "This Great Stage" and is credited with two other full-length recordings, New Road Home and Reaching Deeper.
In addition, he has contributed original songs in each of the three Standing Together compilation recordings. The latest - Standing Together 2024 - contains a beautiful ballad Just a Glimpse, which he co-wrote with his longtime producer Michael Crittenden.
Phil has performed with several West Michigan bands, notably with Mid-Life Crisis as a guest performer on guitar, mandolin and vocals.
Since 2003, through a series of benefit concerts and CD sales, and with support of area business sponsors and his music partner Michael Crittenden, Phil has helped raise over $800,000 for the benefit of the at-risk students of GRPS, as well as Kids’ Food Basket, the Ronald McDonald House, Hope Network, Helen DeVos Children's Hospital and more.
Most of Phil's lyrics are grounded in life experiences and storytelling. He caught the attention of award-winning author Jean Craighead George with his "Soul of the Wolf", and her response was “Your song captures the mood and spirit of my book Julie of the Wolves. It is a well-crafted and beautifully arranged song.”
And Randy Wayne White, author, New York Times Bestseller Doc Ford series, had this to say about Phil's songwriting: “I really like your song about my book Last Flight Out, it sounds great!”
Phil continues to leverage his company West Side Music LLC as a direct channel to link his philanthropic efforts to community fundraising campaigns - he continues his long history of songwriting, performing, and fund-raising throughout Michigan.
