Pete Pecora, Jr. is a woodwind player, composer, and arranger in Central New York. He is a member of the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP).
Influences include Buddy DeFranco & Henry Questa for clarinet; Hubert Laws, Herbie Mann, Dave Valentin & James Galway for flute; Tom Scott, Wilton Felder, Cannonball Adderley, Sonny Rollins, Stanley Turrentine & Bruce Johnstone for saxophone; Chicago, Tom Scott, Gustav Holst, Leonard Bernstein, William Grant Still & John Williams for composing.

"A Day in The City for Flute and Piano" portrays a person visiting a big city for the very first time, being completely overwhelmed by it and then, at the end, enjoying it.
"The Sailor and The Sea" tells the story of a retired sailor living in the early twentieth century. Each day he sits on the shore of the sea watching and listening to the waves. As he does so, he falls into a series of reveries in which he remembers his sailing days. The opening statement represents the waves upon the shore, and repeats at various times during the piece. The first reverie has the sailor remembering his sailing days, represented by a spirited sea shanty (“Sailing Days”) and, after a return to the wave motif, he remembers his days as a young man in the dance halls (“Dance Hall Days”). A short return of the wave motif leads us into memories of “a faraway seaport, a lost love” and “a waltz to remember.” This is followed by the immediate return to the sailor’s true love - the sea - and a return to the sea shanty.
