Hog Hoggidy Hog are more than just a band, they are an institution and for the past 16 years their infectious brand of porkrock magic has seared its legacy into the landscape of South African music forever. They have been dubbed our very own godfathers of ska and punk and have been instrumental in the creation and development of these scenes and will be synonymous with them for years to come. They have been the inspiration for multiple generations and had a profound influence on the South African music scene as it is today. It’s hard to imagine a world without Hog Hoggidy Hog, but unfortunately in the near future we won’t need much imagination as for those of you who didn’t already know, the Hogs are moving to Europe. Friday 13 of January 2012 is going to be the end of an era as the Hogs will be playing their last South African show before they leave. Sharing the bill on this momentous occasion are Half Price, the masters of all that is drunk, punk and obscene along with the sultry, sexy ladies and lads from Peachy Keen. Guest appearances will also be made to honour the Hogs from various Cape Town bands such as the Rudimentals and 7th Son too. So while it is with a heavy heart that we bid the Hogs farewell, we ask all of you to put on your party boots one last time to join us for the grand finale to one hell of a journey and celebrate the music of Hog Hoggidy Hog as Punk Rock Revival presents Ze Laast Shpit Roast! EVENT: Ze Laast Shpit Roast (Hog Hoggidy Hog farewell show) DATE: Friday 13 January 2012 VENUE: Mercury Live BANDS: Hog Hoggidy Hog, Half Price, Peachy Keen ENTRY: R40 before 11pm, R50 thereafter
