Not so long ago, Steve Palmer and David L Griffin were sitting in a Brooklyn café, contemplating what their next move would be in the music business. Both gentlemen had years of experience: playing in this band, touring in that country, writing that song, and so on.
Almost as if by providence, they came up with an idea, seemingly at the same split second: let’s just have fun, and create/perform with no limits! And thusly, ParaDyce! was born.
ParaDyce! is a forward-thinking Smooth Jazz/R&B ensemble whose vibrant grooves and sophisticated arrangements draw on the deep funk of Mandrill, the soulful polish of Earth, Wind & Fire, and the boundary-pushing spirit of jazz pioneers such as Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea, Joe Sample, Weather Report, Ramsey Lewis and Return To Forever. Since bursting onto the scene, ParaDyce! has earned a reputation for crafting polished, rhythm-driven music that simultaneously moves the body and stimulates the mind.
Their debut single captured listeners immediately, amassing more than 125,000 streams within weeks of release and demonstrating the group’s innate knack for melody, texture, and feel. Building on that early success, ParaDyce!’s second release—co-written and produced by a Grammy Award–winning producer—further elevated their musical profile. The track seamlessly blends warm Rhodes chords, horn-style synths and infectious bass lines to create a sound both modern and timeless.
Always keeping an ear toward innovation, ParaDyce! channels their collective influences into compositions that strike a perfect balance between tight, radio-friendly hooks and open, improvisational passages. Each member brings a deep understanding of jazz harmony and R&B groove, resulting in music that appeals to discerning jazz aficionados, soul lovers, and casual listeners alike.
Looking ahead, ParaDyce!’s upcoming project promises to be their most sun-soaked offering yet: a “summer groove” collection brimming with breezy rhythms, sparkling melodic lines, and laid-back vibes designed to soundtrack warm evenings and coastal drives. Set for release soon, this new body of work underscores the band’s commitment to evolving their sound and delivering fresh, high-caliber music that resonates across genres.
Whether performing on stage or streaming at home, audiences can expect from ParaDyce! an irresistible combination of jazz sophistication, R&B warmth, and funk-driven energy—music that invites listeners not just to hear, but to feel every note.
