There are a few - mostly along the Danforth. Julie Long is involved with one but I can't recall the name of the place. She is on Facebook and whatever she's doing musically is usually posted there. There are a couple in the Junction area, the Axis is one, but that might be too midtown for you. You might also try contacting Brian Gladstone - he has events like that all over the place.
