Rush Drummer immortalized in Fiction:
Just when you think the rock band Rush can't get any more exposure, with their induction in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame this month, expanded tours, and success of recent Clockwork Angels album, think again. Neil Peart's story inspired by his own journey to Alaska has become a work of fiction, by a Hollywood fan no less.
Though a true Rush geek will recognise subtle similarities, ELLISON & AMOS, available on Amazon.com, follows a fictional musician and his collision with a devout fan. Don't discount it as a just a walk in the park, or a neuron firing across the right Hemisphere of the brain, because this book has the psychological and philosophical overtones you'd expect from a story which pays homage to the Professor on the Drum kit, and the band in general.
Yes, like Rush's own obscure beginning, discovered by radio station WMMS (100.7 FM) in Cleveland, Ohio, Ellison, a varied makeover of Peart's middle name, is sure to become a cult classic. And don't be surprised if Hollywood picks up movie rights.
