Good day, It's time for another "A Taste Of Guitar." Monday May 23, 2011 at 6:30PM at ArtExposure here in Hampstead. ArtExposure is the red barn looking building near Lowe's. So coming north on Hwy 17, ArtExposure will be on the left before Lowe's. If you make it to the stop-light at Lowe's then turn around and it will be on your right a short distance. Obviously coming south ArtExposure will be just past Lowe's on your right. We will have free refreshments. A donation box will be out so if you'd like to, please make a contribution to help keep this event admission free. Our special guest for the night is Dave DiMuro. Dave has performed with the NC Symphony, is the regular drummer for the Wilmington Big Band, teaches music at Snipes Academy of Art and Design in Wilmington, and is the founder of Pantastic Steel Band. Dave will be performing on and talking about the history of the steel drum. We are starting our fourth year of TOG and we have quite a line-up of very talented young guitarist to kick off 2011. Caeley Holden will start the night off performing Aura Lee and an original composition Smile. Skyler Haines is next in line performing Tom Petty's Free Falling. In the middle is Skylar Smith performing The Girl From Ipanema, Malaguena, and Cavatina. Next up is Niraj Singh performing two original compositions Skipping Stones and Two Skies. Closing out the first part of the night will be Zachary Sloan performing Something's Missing/In your Atmosphere by John Mayer and doing a blues jam with his guitar teacher Justin Fox.
